How Can you tell if you are Hiring a Reliable Business?
Service related companies often refer to themselves as reliable to describe the type of customer service they provide. It may seem redundant, but nevertheless it is an important word, if it is accurate. Who wants to hire a service that isn't reliable? How can you tell if a business you are considering the services of is really reliable?
Use Google (or another search engine) and type in the name of the business you are considering...see what comes up... You may find their website, Twitter and/or Facebook accounts, possible online reviews, advertisements, magazine or newspaper articles. There are also websites that will provide you with claims customers have made. If the business you are considering is local, ask around. It might sound like an old cliche' but word of mouth is still a very good thing.
A professional business won't try to encourage you to choose their business by speaking negatively about their competition. They should sell you on their own attributes, type of service provided, recommendations, and other work they have done.
Ask for references. Any reputable business that has been around for awhile should be able to provide you with at least one checkable reference; and don't feel bad about really checking. You can also get a good feel for how responsible a business or business owner is from the way they respond to you. Are they polite and friendly? Are they able to fully answer your questions? Do they return your phone calls and emails? Do they show up on time? Trust your instincts.
